Whale Watch

Shots from a whale watch tour boat off the coast of MA, August, 2006

Boston Harbor

Various shots around the harbor from a whale watch cruise ship.

JFK Library

A series of photos taken in July 1999 at the John F. Kennedy presidential library, Boston, MA. John Kennedy, Jr's airplane had just crashed into the sea, killing him and his wife, and an impromptu memorial sprang up at the library.

Boston

I have surprisingly few pictures of my own city.

1) The bridhe over the pond in the Public Garden
2) The front of Faneuil Hall.

Key West

I spent a week in Key west in early 2000:

1) The sunset as seen from the poolside bar of my hotel.
2) The coolest dog on the beach.
3) A bagpiper at the Mallorey Square sunset nightly party.
4) The beach as seen from a biplane ride I took around the island and over the sea to check out some shipwrecks and sharks...lots and lots of sharks.
5) Southernmost lighthouse in the USA. I climbed it. I sweated. A lot.
6) Sunset at Mallorey Square.
7) Smathers Beach.
8) Ernest Hemingway's house---now a museum overrun with six-toed cats.

Ireland

I've been to Ireland a few times. My family has a friend who owns a house in an isolated area and I stay there when visiting.

1) A castle on private property. The owner lets people in to photograph it.
2) Sunset view from my front door.
3) A traditional cottage (actually lived in, not a touristy replica) on one of the aran Islands off the west coast. Caught in time...on these islands, Gaelic is still the first language, English second.
4) View of the distand Cliffs of Moher as seen from the side of the house
